The first match of the three-match ODI series is scheduled to be played in Bangladesh on Sunday. Shami is not fit due to injury. Shami suffered the injury during a practice session after returning from the T20 World Cup in Australia last month.
After the ODI, Team India is also scheduled to play a two-Test series against Bangladesh. Shami was also part of the Test team. It is unclear whether he will be able to play tests after this injury.
Some media reports said that he was dropped from the entire series. Team India’s troubles have increased due to Mohammed Shami’s injury.
India’s main fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is already out of the series due to injury. He was also not part of the squad for the T20 World Cup due to an injury.
Along with this, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is also out of the ODI series due to an injury. With Shami out, Umran Malik got a place in the Indian team. Umran recently made his debut in ODI cricket during the New Zealand tour. Umran took three wickets in three ODIs.
