Google CEO Sundar Pichai has been honored with Padma Bhushan. On receiving the best honor like Padma Bhushan, Sundar Pichai said, ‘India lives with me wherever I am.
Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai has been awarded Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award in the business and industry category. Pichai got emotional on the occasion and said that India is part of him and I take it with him wherever I go.
Pichai was named one of 17 award winners earlier this year. He was honored with the Padma Bhushan in San Francisco on Friday in the presence of his family members, despite not being able to come to India.
When Pichai was honored with this award, he said that whatever I am today is possible only because of India. India has shaped me. I sincerely thank the Government of India and the people of India for this honors.
India is a part of me, and I look forward to continuing the great partnership between Google and India by working together to bring the benefits of technology to more people. Pichai, 50, accepted the award from Taranjit Singh Sandhu, India’s ambassador to the US.
