DCGI / Drug Controller General of India has made a big announcement about Corona vaccine. DCGI has given final approval for the emergency use of Serum Institute’s Vaccine Covishield and Bharat Biotech Vaccine Covichen.
These vaccines can be administered to the general public in the country. Earlier, the SEC had recommended to DCGI to allow emergency use of Covishield on 1st January and covacin on 2nd January. DCGI has sealed it today.
DCGI Director V.G. Somani said both vaccines are completely safe and can be used in case of emergency. According to DCGI, two doses of both vaccines will be given as injections. Both of these vaccines were kept at a temperature of 2 to 8 degrees.
DCGI Director VG Somani said the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) of the Central Drugs Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) had recommended the emergency use of Covishield and Covaxin on 1st and 2nd January.
According to DCGI, the SEC consisted of experts in the field. Among them were Pulmonology, Immunology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Scientists.
According to the DCGI, the overall effectiveness of the serum institute vaccine was 70.42%. Serum statistics studies were conducted in other countries. The DCGI said clinical trials would continue in the country regarding the vaccine by serum.
Regarding the Bharat Biotech vaccine, DCGI said that the Bharat Biotech vaccine was launched in three phases on 25,800 people, and so far, 22,500 people have been vaccinated in the country. According to the DCGI, according to the data available so far, the vaccine is safe and provides outstanding vaccine protection.
What DCGI said on side effects ?
