Local elections are going to be held in India’s neighboring country on November 20. Just 72 hours before the polling day, the Election Commission of Nepal has decided to ban movement across all borders of the country.
Nepal’s border will remain sealed till November 20 midnight. Security agencies of both the countries are on alert for the ongoing elections in Nepal, while security personnel at the border is in alert mode.
50 troops of ASB are deployed on the border of Badh and 47 troops of ASB are deployed on other borders. Along with this, a team of ASB and police have been deployed along with dog escort at the border.
A letter has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs to stop movement due to border restrictions. Ambulances, water tankers, milk vehicles and fire vehicles may ply for sick persons with special permission.
